Well it is just after 1:00AM, and it could have been a lot worse. At this time the NWS is blind in this area as "TYX" is down. But it is not really TYX that is down but the communications cable from the radar site to the NWS. Being a Storm-Spotter/Chaser, I have inside phone lines that I can call and the word is that the cable (be it copper or fiber) is broken somewhere near the radar site, so I am told, and that repairs are being made as fast and safely as possible.
