Beer Prices

I prefer Labatt Blue. I buy it at Sams Club and the cost per can is about 60 cents. Sorry Tavern owners but it is cheaper and safer to drink at home. But if you have to go out and have a beer in our town, how much can you expect to pay?

The anwer is anywhere from $2.00 to $4.00. Yup you can be at the same bar and expect to see this price range. Yes I said the same bar. Remember Happy Hour? Happy Hour has taken on a new meaning, it is more like progression hour[s]. Beer [and other beverages] is cheaper earlier in the day and gets more expensive as the night goes on, peaking at the $4 mark around midnight. I am not sure if this increase is like a nuisance charge or just prices charged to the tourists, but it does happen at some places. The other cause for a swing in beer prices is this philosophy: Locals get a break...................but not all locals get the same break. The born and raised second or third generation local gets the best break. Then there is the transplanted year round local, who gets the next best break. This is followed by the seasonal local who may or may not get a better price than the previous 2 I just talked about. Of course there is probably the out of towner summer person that is the source of something that can not be prescribed, he gets the best prices and scores with all the chicks too. Don't tell me that this does not exist................it does.

Bartenders get your acts together. If your going to give someone a break, put some shade on it. Put the discounted money aside and ring it up later. We all notice when the other local comes in and orders the same beer and he gets charged $2.00 for the same beer I just paid $3.00. And no Happy Hour just did not end either.

I can expect to pay full price from now on.
Don't Care!!!!!!

  1. of course, then there's the "regular", there everyday and leaving a good tip, never giving the bartenders a hard time. He's probably on a different scale too.

  3. PG, I have a question, did you ask the bartender why he just got the same beer for a buck less than yours? Sorry, I might not have been able to control myself so calmly. I dont care if your a regular or just "johnny tourist off the street", everyone should be charged the same price for the same beer!! Bartenders are paid to "serve" the customer, not rip off people when they feel like it. But to do it right in front of you, thats just not right, and Im sure that I would NOT have let that go without saying something!!
