Choo Choo Choo Choo............

That is the sound that the Mach 5 makes when Speed presses button A which activates the "jacks" sending the car into the air.  I'm a dork, but I think that car is so cool.  We rented the video Speed Racer from Village Video [yes we use both VV and NF].  The beginning of the movie was confusing with all sorts of flashbacks.  It was the directors way to refresh our minds of the cartoon and to give those that never watched the toon a synopsis.  The same guys that created the Matrix trilogy, the Wachowski Brothers, brought SR to the big screen.  The casting was funny, John Goodman as Pops and Christina Ricci as Trixie.  Speeds mom was played by Susan Sarandon, but that character did not appear much in the toon version.  Some very funny scenes with Spritle and Chim Chim, especially the tossing of "Chim Chim cookies".  Lots of "Matrix-esque" special effects with the use of extremely vivid color enhanced backgrounds, which looked magnificent on the LCD tv.  This is not a movie to be taken seriously, but neither was the toon, it is just FUN.
